My On-Going Loves Thread

I am going to post (and reply) here so that I can look back and remember the positives I feel in my life. Too often I get bogged down in the day-to-day and can't bring these to mind.

I love the following

* Listening to the first notes on a new album by a musician/band I enjoy
* The smell of warm rain on summer pavement
* Endorphins immediately at the end of a long run
* Expressing my feelings/needs honestly to someone who intimidates me without resorting to my unhealthy behaviors
* The moment when something truly understands something I've been teaching
* Being "seen" and "heard" in my support group
* Recognizing an unhealthy choice that is driven by compulsive feelings (eg, over-eating or similar) and deciding to make a healthier choice instead
* Finishing a project

I've been gone for a while because sometimes my brain shuts down certain healthy behaviors in my life (even if I know they are "good" for me) and recently it was coming to these boards for a while. I don't know why, my brain just did. In the past month or so since I've been gone I've had some monumental things happen in my life and I'm not quite ready to say anything about them outside of my therapist's (virtual) office but certainly some things have been shifting. I've joined a new 12 step program and the shares I've been hearing have really helped me make some progress.

I had totally forgotten about this thread so I want to add to it:

1) hearing a share in program (or even on Paul's show) that hits really close to home and hearing the voice inside my head say "Yes!! this person gets me!"
2) the feeling of finally making a breakthrough in therapy or program
3) the feeling of peace after a gentle meditative sit
4) the feeling of finding the courage to speak my truth regardless of what other people might think or interpret it
