Re: Advertising
I'm positive that Paul is trying everything. And as I'm sure you've heard...he suffers from depression. That he can even keep the interviews going when he's not feeling well is truly inspiring. I'm working under the assumption that he's running on all possible cylinders (given some will be unavailable when he's depressed) and to say that he needs "get creative" is assuming that he's simply not trying hard enough. Do you really want to send him that message? Because he's obviously done a lot for you...and for a whole bunch of us. Please be grateful for the wonderful gift he keeps giving us and don't threaten to drop it when you're irritated with how he's chosen to put it together. That's just not supportive at all.
Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain. ~ Kahlil Gibran
Re: Advertising
I celebrate Mr. Gilmartin's ability to advertise, and encourage him to continue to do so as he sees fit.
I wish him financial rewards commensurate with the impact his podcast has on others.
I also celebrate the passionate discussion of this very forum thread, and see it as a testament as to the power of Mr. Gilmartin's efforts.
My only quibble or suggestion would be to engineer a smoother, more clear, transition into the mid-show ad. During the recent episode with the veteran it took me a second to realize Mr. Gilmartin had transitioned from show to ad.
Such is my two cents.
