Hi everyone,
I'm a 30-something Canadian lady that suffers from major depression when I'm unlucky, dysthymia when I'm lucky, as well as 'clusters of borderline and avoidant personality disorder'. Basically, this means that I'm a sad, thin-skinned person who's afraid of people and loves shopping sprees and substances.
Except for my immediate family, my husband and a single friend, I've been completely unable to form or maintain a genuine intimate relationship with fellow human beings. I spend a lot of time on exteriors when I should be focusing on bettering myself. Sometimes I'm content, even happy, but often I'm a miserable, lonely person.
I just started ugly-crying when I registered and saw the words on this website 'You are not alone'. That felt painfully good.
A friendly, avoidant hello!

Welcome to the forum, mscellophane. I also have had depression problems my whole life and am avoidant. I don't have many relationships with the humans. You are not alone.
