Occasionally there is some accountability. Most often there are accolades for a "great man/woman" and at least one person being told they are making up their story for attention or money. These hurt the most.

Thank you both for the hugs. It helps to be acknowledged. Oak thanks for the HALT reminder. At one point I couldn't figure out why I was so crabby and your words helped me remember, Oh yeah, I'm hurting! and I was able to give myself a little mental hug and permission.

I've put myself on a couple of days internet fast (except for very safe sites like this). There's just too many things reminding me of the misogyny and rape culture that need so much work. Anger is helpful for change, but I can't help if I'm overwhelmed.
