Unless too much pressure builds up, and then.... ;)

So, one thought that's occurred to me, maybe minor, but I've never been really practiced or comfortable with using terms like, "dear", "honey", sweetie", etc, with my wife and I think it would make a difference. Feels kinda strange now to do it though, and I don't think I heard much of that at home either. Anyone else?

Also missed a few lessons in the romance department... And tend to overthink things, and choke...

Yeah, in general my life is about intense desire of things i just will never have...

my autism makes it so difficult with relationships and intimacy, but i crave them

my ADHD makes me dream of all kinds of accomplishments but totally incapable to put in the work to achieve anything of substance because <lazy>

SD, imo these are just formulas and conventions. In my particular microcosmos, they'll just as often be used passive-aggressively: "Honey, have you taken out the trash?"

MM, have you done anything similar to the micro-rebellions I suggested earlier? Like for example, buying some nice shoes without telling anyone might give you a small boost of agency. Or, simply going out to sit by yourself with a notebook in a café or in a park with the phone in airplane mode may feel almost rebellious and authentic.

Conventions, yes, but used correctly, they can take the edges off. I've been accused of being too sensitive, and of misreading cues and misunderstanding intents. And we both can be a little prickly at times...

Situation update and strange realisation
Just had lunch alone in the house, at the dinner table and I suddenly realised there were no eyes on me. MIL is going to spend a couple of weeks in her own apartment in the city during the yearly festivities. This morning there were of course extra amounts of moans, groans and sighs (supposedly fishing for pity) as my wife packed up MIL's stuff. Now, it's as if a frequency jammer has been switched off and it's easier to form coherent thoughts again without straining. OMFG.
